Real Hollywood Stories

Hollywood is being remade at breakneck speed, the entire neighborhood is being transformed in real time. As the influx of money powers one of the largest redevelopment initiatives in the city, little attention is being paid to the working class neighborhood being supplanted. The parallel increase in both luxury apartments and tent lined residential streets is no coincidence but is an example of cause and effect.
The Hollywood that is vanishing is an organic intersection of culture, race, and socioeconomics that exemplified the best attributes of a global city like Los Angeles. True Topographics is documentary project focused on telling the story of it’s demise using the medium of photography.
